Alanis Morrisette has apparently landed her first starring role in a movie.
The Canadian songstress is set to play the part of Sylvia in an adaptation of Philip K Dick’s novel Radio Free Albemuth, Digital Spy reports.
In the book, Sylvia appears to a record executive in a dream, before turning up in his real life to become his secretary and love interest.
“I am a big fan of Philip K Dick’s poetic and expansively imaginative books,” Alanis reportedly said. “I feel blessed to portray Sylvia, and to be part of this story being told in film.”
The 33-year-old star has previously put in a cameo appearance in movie Dogma, as well as having guest parts in Nip/Tuck and Sex And The City.
This isn’t the first time material by Philip K Dick has been transferred to the big screen – Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? became the Harrison Ford blockbuster Blade Runner, and We Can Remember It For You was revamped as Total Recall.
