
(Source: (my.spill.com) Action Synthese is a French animation studio that is planning on doing a full-length computer generated movie of The Wizard Of Oz which is set for release U.S. theatres in summer of 2010. The film is being directed by John Boorman, who also did Excalibur and Deliverance. The script is being handled by Jim McClain and Ron Mita whose work includes Robots, S.W.A.T, and Sniper 2. The movie will be a direct adaptation of the original L. Frank Baum novel, and not the 1930s live-action musical.
Action Synthese will handle the production for the upcoming animated movie. They also did the animation for Dougal and Stupid Invaders.

This was talked about for a while, and now it looks like it’ll happen. I excited for it, the only real problem with Dorothys look is the pants, i’m sorry, but if you are doing a period peice which from the looks of it, it is she needs to be in a blue and white checked dress or skirt, even the girls that were tomboys had to wear dresses, there aunts and parents woudnt have left them out of the house without one on. the redst of it looks real awsome.
