The movie studios and television networks have reached a tentative three year deal with teamster drivers and four “craft” unions a few hours after the expiration of the employee contract, and ending speculations of a strike which would cripple the entertainment industry. The deal came early Wednesday morning following two days of negotiations at the headquarters of the Alliance of Motion Picture & Teleivision Producers. Terms were not disclosed and the deal must be ratified by union members in order to go into effect.

This news is only somewhat reassuring to the industry as there are potentially impending strikes by three other major unions: the Writers Guild of America (WGA), the Directors Guild of America (DGA), and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
