Is Netflix coming to the 360? That kinda-bizarre but when you think about it kinda-sensible idea comes courtesy of Reuters, who reports that Netflix Inc has surveyed its subscribers to gauge their interest in streaming movies to their televisions using the 360.

Netflix spokesman Steve Swasey wouldn’t say whether the survey indicates a soon-to-be announced partnership, but said Netflix was interested in getting its movies to consumers’ TVs “in as many ways as possible.”

Despite the announced delay, EA was nice enough to soften the sting with details on the Collector’s Edition of Warhammer Online.

The package will be limited to 60,000 copies and retail for $79.99. It is now available for pre-order. Details on the extras are below:

Boy, Dr Pepper must have a lot of faith in Axl Rose….

The soda pop giant just announced a new Guns N’ Roses-themed promotional campaign where it will give a free can of Dr Pepper to “everyone in America” if the looooong-delayed Chinese Democracy arrives anytime during 2008.

WTF?

“It took a little patience to perfect Dr Pepper’s special mix of 23 ingredients, which our fans have come to know and love,” Dr Pepper director of marketing Jaxie Alt said in a statement. “So we completely understand and empathize with Axl’s quest for perfection — for something more than the average album. We know once it’s released, people will refer to it as ‘Dr Pepper for the ears’ because it will be such a refreshing blend of rich, bold sounds – an instant classic.”

CNET Networks just axed about 120 jobs as part of a restructuring. The move will end up costing CNET $3.5 – 4 million in pre-tax charges.

This could be the first step in CNET being acquired by another party and we’ll keep you updated.

CNET owns Gamespot, which recently came under criticism around the release of Kane & Lynch and Jeff Gerstmann’s forced departure from Gamespot.

RadTech has just announced the ProCable iPhone headset. This set of in ear isolation headphones includes a mic so you can rock out to Wham! and not worry about missing a phone call (perhaps to wake you up before they go go). The ProCable headset also features a ’sound valve’ that opens up when you’re listening to music at a lower volume so you can hear what is going on around you.

The ProCable iPhone headset is available now in black and silver, and goes for $24.95.

(Source: yappyness.com)          Went to NAFA (Nanyang Academy Of Fine Arts)
today, specially to attend Lucasfilm’s Portfolio Workshop.

Supposedly, the speakers are Mr Jim (Recruiting Manager) and Ms Alicia
(Recruiter) from Lucasfilm, but during the talk, Mr Tad (Director of
Training, also in-charge of the Jedi Masters Programme) took Mr Jim’s
place for the talk. Well, all the better since I’m considering to try
for the programme myself.

In general, make sure you know about the company and look out for job

getting the job the first time, improve your skills and try again.

David Cohen had lunch recently with tech legend Ray Feeney to talk about what’s going on with visual effects, digital production and 3-D. Ray has been saying for a while now that the industry is undergoing it’s biggest transformation since the advent of sound. Bigger than color, certainly.

DVICE, SCIFI.COM and MAKE magazine have partnered to challenge Battlestar Galactica fans to build a better robot in the first-ever Make a Cylon contest.

The competition commences March 25 on SCIFI.COM. Battlestar stars Tricia Helfer and Grace Park, who play toasters in SCI FI Channel’s original series, will determine whose machine is worthy to be called Cylon.

Entrants can use any materials–blinking lights for eyes, metal armor for a costume, actual toasters, etc.–to build a physical machine (no Photoshop images will be accepted). The new Cylons may be of the humanoid or robotic variety.
