More Guitar Hero 3 tracks were announced officially this morning. Some highlights include Sonic Youth’s “Cool Thing,” Aerosmith’s “Same Old Song and Dance” but, best of all, “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” by The Charlie Daniels Band.

Jon Stewart is batting 1.000 as a producer. His only effort to date has been The Colbert Report, and that’s doing just fine. Now, he puts his perfect average on the line to produce Important Things With Demetri Martin, a sketch show for Comedy Central that will feature the precious comedian Demetri Martin and his views on all things important and/or semi-important.

The show will premiere in the ’second half’ of 2008, and will run for 6-10 episodes in the first season. Apparently, Jon has taken a pretty active role in the making of the show, helping to edit in post production and making decisions about the content that will be on the show. So far, Stewart has an unerring sense of what’s good, and comedians seem to really like Martin, so this could be good.

A videogame based on ultimate-awesome movie The Princess Bride is coming. It’s a piece of news we can only call “inconceivable” (although we don’t really know the meaning of the word).

Subtitled True Love and High Adventure, we can only hope the upcoming downloadable PC title will feature a poison wine guessing mini-game.

We haven’t seen anything from the game but we’re a little a’scaired of a “casual” treatment of a beloved childhood film. We’ll try to keep an open mind.

One of the most dangerous, offensive and inflammatory words in the English language, “lesbo” was included in Ubisoft’s version of Scrabble for the Nintendo DS and in response to the massive public outrage (you’ve seen the riots on the news, no doubt), the company has issued an apology.

Interestingly enough, the word is included in the Chambers Official Scrabble Dictionary. So, all concerned might also want to take the Scrabble board game out of the rotation next time family game night rolls around. We suggest that you enjoy a rousing game of Candy Land or perhaps Jenga instead.

Was there a serial downloader lurking outside Jammie Thomas’ window? Did someone else hook up a computer to her Internet connection? Those are some of the questions her attorney has been raising in the nation’s first trial of someone accused of illegally sharing music online.

But Richard Gabriel, lead attorney for some of the nation’s largest record companies, sought to pick those ideas apart one by one by calling witnesses to document each step the record companies used to point the finger at Thomas.

Testimony in the civil case was to resume Wednesday in federal court in Duluth. The case could wrap up as early as Wednesday night or Thursday.

Film lovers who buy a copy of Transformers on DVD will have a chance to win a Chevy Camaro designed to look like Bumblebee, one of the most popular Autobots from the movie. The car is tricked out to make it super special and super valuable, and fans of the movie will most assuredly love to drive it.

See that flaming Halo 3 helmet? It doesn’t matter how many achievements you earn, how many skulls you find or how loud you cry: You can’t have it.

The flaming helmet is an armor permutation that can only be wielded by employees of Bungie, so if you really, really want it, better dust off your resume and apply for a job.

A thief or group of thieves broke into the production office of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Krystal Skull and stole all kinds of proprietary items, such as production stills and a shooting script, with the idea of trying to sell them to an online agency for cash. The robbers then reached out to those online groups, and TMZ.com helped with a sting operation that captured the criminals redhanded.

Videogame writers of the world, your life has been incredible-ized! The Writer’s Guild of America, who usually honor TV and movie scribes, are giving an award to the authors of your favorite games.

The award was developed by the WGA’s New Media Caucus “to encourage storytelling excellence in video games, to improve the status of writers, and to begin to encourage uniform standards” within the gaming industry. The guild says the award aims to spotlight a wide range of quality work by video game writers, raising their profiles and validating their contributions to this rapidly maturing medium.

Apple recently posted a Support Document on Boot Camp reminding users that Boot Camp is time-limited beta software which expires when Leopard ships. The support document states flatly: “The license to use Boot Camp Beta expires when Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is available to the public. To continue using Boot Camp at that time, upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.”

It’s not clear that the Boot Camp beta would necessarily stop working with Tiger once Leopard ships, but it does seem that Apple is revoking any license to use it past that point. It’s also not clear whether Apple might sell Tiger users a Boot Camp license separately from Leopard (à la iChat AV in Jaguar).
